Pied Kingfisher

Framing flying bird is an big achievement coz it is very difficult task to balance steady n accurate focus with good shutter speed to freeze the movement.
Many times i tried to freeze flying Pied Kingfisher but mostly out of focus n if it is focused then shutter speed is 1/1000 so image were not sharp.
daily i went at Tena wetland to freeze Pied Kingfisher in flying.on 27/08/15 i was also there n searched but not found where it usually i saw since last 3days.after waiting of 1+hour i had decided to move at other place, n sudden both of those Pied Kingfisher were coming towards me. my camera was on tripod n haven't time to unfold so used as mono-pod n started continuously. i have 600D so have limitation of 5shots then buffer. sudden Pied Kingfisher came close n above to me again press for continuously.and the result is here.

Common Moorhen with Chicks

Since my photography life of 2yrs, i didn't get chance to frame Chicks of birds/duck. during my birding for flying shots of Pied Kingfisher, while i was taking photo of Common Moorhen, i saw Chicks of Common Moorhen n clicked 2-3 shots against the sun light.
due to forget to change my camera setting, image not sharp but i liked it coz my 1st shot with Chicks.
image sharpness decreased due to increased a shadow n exposure.

Pied Kingfisher

Early morning Birding gives beautiful photos of birds. As my self n my Friend Aneeket went our favorite birding place at tena wetland, Surat outskirt around at 7am.as we both know the place ,where Pied Kingfisher can sighted easily.
Since last 3 birding session,we had do change something mean we use mine Tamron 150-600mm for better zoom n Aneeket's Canon 60D for fast shutter speed with better sensor than my 600d. this combination gives best result for us and the result is here.

Darter

Wake up in early morning is much tough for me. As decided to go for birding around at 6.30am, my frnd Aneeket knows my habit of late wake up. he called me at 6.15am n told ready???...lol.
Still i fresh up fast n we meet 6.45am at our meeting point. then went for Surat's big wetland at Tena village. we reached there at 7am n i was lil disappointed due to low water level coz if there is low water level then winter birds didn't come there.during this thought sudden sighted Darter...yes oriental darter also known as Snake Bird.its 1st time for me n my frnd.due to low water level n grass its bit difficult to focus for me though took 5-6 photo. most photos not clear even at 600mm.

Greater Flamingos

On 19/08/15 Around 4.30pm i was taking photos of Greater Flamingos at Sultanpur Wetland, due to backlit photos are dark so thought to move ahead so light not came behind the flamingos. while i was focusing flamingos my camera went out of focus n seen many flamingos far away mean at other side of wetland. when these 4 flamingos moved further inside of wetland, i also think to go at other side of wetland.
after reaching there i was so confused....how to cross n go closure!!!!

see this panoramic photo taken in mobile n write on pic with details for exact idea that how i go thru.
how to go closer as there is water lane width of 4 to 6ft n its difficult to jump for me as never ever tried in my life till now.walked here n there for 15-20min for cross this little river lol, but didn't find the narrower.after 20min, at a one point i stopped myself n thought for jump after running.it was very difficult coz my camera n 150-600mm lens is on tripod.even in fear that if i failed n fall then lens will break....
finally walk for 10 ft...take a deep breath n run....n luckily m succeed to jump 5ft river lol...but my shoes are in lil dry n wet mud.
see my Nike shoes of 5k :(

whatever it was a very proud moment for me.walked towards flamingos. there was a 6ft wall made of dried mud n soil so very slowly took position for photo.thought to climb n go up then go to close of water so climb up myself then slide to down...now my cloths were mud stained. but always final result is sweet and got some good photos due to flamingos were away so they ignored me.started clicking with different settings. took video too.

Greater Flamingos

As i was on social trip, i had decided to go at Sultanpur wetland for duck n spoonbil when i return to my home but my friend Dr.Dharmeshbhai told that he got news of Greater Flamingos had arrived at Sultanpur near Navsari, i was so happy for clear weather.
i went sultanpur only 2 times. at 1st time i didn't find main wetland n during 2nd time i was with my birding friends so the road map was lil difficult to find the location.so i had set location on google map in my mobile. the map shows the village but not wetland so i went lil ahead even i ignored the board which shows bird seen in this wetland.sudden noticed n return to that area n turn my car.
The road was very small,if other car come in-front of me it may very difficult n somehow i reached.
3-4 flamingos were seen with eyes, when i focused they were Greater Flamingos....wow.but i was at wrong side mean sun was 90 degree to bird n giving backlit.so moved lil ahead n took 4-5 shot.

Blue-tailed Bee-eater

Due to Social reason on 18/08/15 i was at Damaniya hospital, Gandevi around at 8pm. i called my friend, Dr.Dharmeshbhai who is a pediatrician.luckily he was there n we had talked on camera body n monsoon bird near by Bilimora. so decided to went coastal highway of Bilimora to Valsad around at 6.30am.
As usual i wake up late n msg Dr.Dharmeshbhai around at 6.45 but he didn't read(as he replied around 9am that he didn't wake up early due to night call from hospial).so i went alone.
i just entered in dandi n seen two Blue-tailed bee-eaters as Dr.Dharmeshbhai told me. Blue-tailed Bee-eater were found in winter in this coastal highway side area. sudden so stopped my car n focused on it.i was so excited when i clicked both Blue-tailed Bee-eater in single frame.

Tickell's Blue Flycatcher

Credit goes to Dr.Pankaj Maheria for this photo as he sighted this bird while we were at Hingolgadh for Indian Pitta. he even spotted showed me this Tickell's Blue Flycatcher at Vansda National Park but i was failed to focus.
we were searching Indian Pitta here n there but failed for 1-2 hours. sudden Pankaj very slowely called to come to there,i i was so excited, thought for Indian Pitta but find Tickell's Blue Flycatcher.my camera setting was good, even though i didn't focused well coz we were very close.and my bad luck... Tickell's Blue Flycatcher fly away.
its a just 33% zoomed n cropped. its my real bad luck that i didn't managed or focused well.even my camera didn't detect the proper setting in Aperture-Priority AE Mode.

ps : did Shadow, Light n Sharpening correction. even image not sharp due to bad camera setting(Shutter speed & iso), don't know why this happen in Aperture-Priority AE Mode.

Mostly i had avoided Bronze-winged Jacana in early months of my photography due to i have to take photos of beautiful looking birds. But i was wrong each n every species looks beautiful, if u like birds.

Took my seat on ground hardly 1ft away from water of river Tapi. i was like a statue n after 15-20min,Bronze-winged Jacana came for food near me. Took 4-5 photos but not up to my mark as i was new to photography.

Brown-headed Gull

I love taking extreme close up.Taking extreme close up is a very difficult task as we have to go nearer and during this walkway the bird will notice n fly away.
Brown-headed Gull is a winter visitor and got chance to take photos of Brown-headed Gull on 3rd April 2015. i was at Wier-cum-Causeway on river Tapi,Surat. As people giving local snakes to Gull and these birds are flying towards food.it was around 8am n bright sunny day, i had stopped my car on road as some gull were siting over iron fencing. before i came out of my car, one gull sit just close to my car over iron fencing.very carefully i came out n went back of my car, hiding myself over car tried to take photos.while i was just 10 to 15 ft, took this photo.
it was not sharp as i was new to photography n proper camera setting not known to me.
