Brown-backed Needletail

Around 5.30am came out from my hotel room and went towards beach to click birds.after walking of 1+km i saw 3-4 birds flying high above me n innocently clicked 4shots.i knew shots were not good coz they are much higher n moved ahead.got nothing n retured around at 8am as we have to check out.
after returning home transferred pics to desktop,i was looking new species n shocked coz i am lucky to frame this bird coz i think it is sighted only during flying http://orientalbirdimages.org/search.php?keyword=Brown-backed+Needletail. Obi has only 35 images of this bird and i am 36th all over and 10th from india.
Brown-backed Needletail is a large swift.
These birds have very short legs which they use only mainly for clinging to vertical surfaces. They never settle voluntarily on the ground and spend most of their lives in the air, living on the insects they catch in their beaks.
These swifts are resident breeders in hill forests in southern Asia from India east to Indonesia and the Philippines.
They build their nests in rock crevices in cliffs, laying 3-5 eggs. The flight is impressively fast, even compared to other swifts.
The Brown-backed Needletail is a very large swift, and at 23-25 cm,123–167 g.

Going on air for Family outing is big achievement for me.i went Andaman with my co doctors in January'16.i think i did not balanced birding with enjoyment at Andaman.Anyway it was great vacation.
Before we end our outing,we went our last spot of Chidiya Tapu on 24/01/16.it was specially changed for me for birding.as we reached there, enjoyed the traveling.we reached there around at 2.30pm.as i went inside the jungle at one point known as suicide point. it was very lonely place n i went alone there.lil bit fear n return after walking of 3-4km coz didn't sighted any single bird there.
before i meet with my frnds i had seen some birds were flying over me n sit on top of branch.quickly i went below that tree n focused.while i clicked the shutter button the moment captured was superb, male n female Red-breasted Parakeet were kissing each other.it was handheld n lil exhausted so take a break of 10 sec n again focused these beauty.after well focused the bird, clicked the shutter button n Red-breasted Parakeet (Female) fly down towards me n feel wow coz taken well n flight shot.it was very far away n in aperture-priority mode the shutter set 1/3000 sec, even wings came lil blurred but happy to click this beauty.

Belly Dancer - Indian Robin

After entering in Photography,my biological clocks wakes me up as early as possible for photography otherwise mostly i wake up around 9am.
i was on family vacation since 30/5/16 to 02/06/16 at my birth town udvada.mostly i spent more than 7days in vacation time.we reached there at 4.30pm n as usual pick my camera tripod n water bottle went there till good sunlight came.
it was a cordoned area of 1 acre where i have planned to make a birding spot.credit to my father who give permission for it.everyday morning and evening i spent time there.i had observed Coppersmith Barbet, Drongo,Large-billed Crow, Common Woodshrike, Yellow-footed Green Pigeon, Spotted Dove, Small Minivet,Pale-billed Flowerpecker,Thick-billed Flowepecker, Shikra, Cattle Egret, Indian Golden Oriole, White-breasted Kingfisher, Water Hen, Scaly-breasted Munia, Purple Sunbird, Purple-rumped Sunbird, Jungle Babbler, Indian Paradise Flycatcher etc
My target was taking flying shot from front of Indian Paradise Flycatcher so as usual i wake up around 6.45am on 01/06/16 and reached around at 7.05am my regular spot where i sit.taken good shot of Indian Paradise Flycatcher waiting for him to again as it came back again after 1hour. i was looking here n there where i had planted some fruit plants for birds,my camera was on tripod.after 1hour one Indian robin male came n give superb shot with beautiful background.even i had captured a video of it.i think these pair was fearless so coming close to me.within 10-15min one male came just 20ft away from me on ground as i ha avoided 1st as bird was down from angle of camera but sudden it started like belly dancing n without taking delay sudden moved my tripod towards this dancer n started clicking, captured best moment till now.
