Greater Flamingos

Watching Birds gives Pleasant feeling.some birds are so beautiful and Greater Flamingo are one of them.i went Kutch in the end of April'16 for breeding plumage with my birding buddies.it was 700+km journey and drive of 10+hrs but enjoyed lot.<br />
i'm so much Thankful to our friend Dilipsinh Chudasama came at our hotel around 6.30am from Mundra,which is 30+km away from our hotel.Then we went for our destination and its 5+km away from hotel.<br />
we reached at beach,still remember that sound of wind and chirping of lots birds.we had clicked many birds and we were busy.we approached towards birds over sand and sea water and got excellent result.sudden we saw 500+ Greater Flamingos and i was so amazed to saw them,all my friend clicking them and also clicked 20+ photos and sharing best of them.<br />

i had a wishlist of bird since many times and <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2017/07/sirkeer-malkoha.html#.WjN7sTeZGM8">Sirkeer Malkoha</a> is one of them.got news of it and easily photographed at Nal Sarovar outskirt so made a plan to go there on 28/06/17.<br />
Successfully got good shots and then went to another wetland for other birds but didn't got any new n good shot so we were returning from there in noon.sudden we saw,folks of  Greater Flamingos were playing with each other and cudn't resist myself so clicked few shots in hurry n from far.here is one of them.<br />

Lesser Flamingos' Matting Dance

On 12th April'15 i got news from one of friend that Lesser Flamingos had arrived in our city so made a plan to go there at 8am.<br />
So everything was ready but didn't know the exact location so i reached 8.30am and seen Lesser Flamingos first time in my life.they were flying here n there and then they fly away to another location but thought to come again.<br />
Parked my car n walked towards these pink beauties.after walking of 50+mtr,i realized the mud as its river bank area and just 5-6km away from sea and sea water of high tide was still there in some parts.so very carefully managed to get closure to them and reached at a point from there i cant go inside so stopped and sit there.<br />
after a wait of 40min they comes again one by one.watching them this happening was mind blowing.as they were far away from me.After 10min i saw a 10+ flamingo made a group and doing like catwalk.it was hilarious moment coz that was a matting display.<br />
photo was not of good quality due to clouds and dirty water behind of it. <br />

was at Modhva beach near Mandvi,Kutch on 30/04/16 for Breeding Plumage 
of Waders.we reached at beach around 7am with my friends.read a full

 had mentioned as i was specially there for breeding plumage but seen 
500-1000 Greater Flamingos there n cudnt stop myself to frame them.as i 
had avoid to approach closer them but happy with some clicks.even though missed some beautiful moments of Greater Flamingos.<br />

For Breeding plumage, i went Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary on 14/04/16,story posted at <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2016/04/black-tailed-godwit-breeding-plumage.html#.V48Kb0c9IqJ"> Black-tailed Godwit</a>.we reached there around 6.30am and entered in the lake with our all time guide Akbar and Latif.it was pleasant feeling in the early morning to see sunrise and birds all around.<br />
We had started clicking birds since starting of our journey,i was clicking only breeding plumage.we were searching Terns coz in summer many Terns came there.But find only Little Tern and didn't got good shot.<br />
We moved towards sight of Pratincole,while we were going seen Lesser Flamingos and i was avoid to click as i have shots clicked in Surat and Published in Divya Bhasker News Paper.My friend Pankaj was clicking them and thought why m not clicking as he had already clicked Lesser Flamingos at Nal Sarovar, so started clicking and got this amazing shot.When i had seen this photo,find excellent light with beautiful background makes it lovely frame.<br />

It was 11th April'15 n i saw pics of Flamingos on my friend 
Dr.Divyang Dave's Facebook update, so i msg him for location. He is very
 kind person n guide me for location. i am very thankful to 
Dr.Divyangbhai Dave.The place is just 10-15km away from my house so i 
was excited to see them with my eyes n wanna frame.<br /><br />That day was 
last day of my prince's exam so we were in movie and came home at around
 at 1am even though i wake around 7.30am,get in hurry to go there and 
reached around there aprx 8.15am.<br /><br />when i had seen flamingos 1st 
time from far away i was so excited n started taking pics with going 
towards them but my bad luck was started. a Raptor was on hunt n all 
Flamingos fly away.i thought,i have a time to approach inside where 
flamingos would come so moved inside.after waiting of 30-40min they 
again came but far away from me n this time it was very bad situation,i 
cudn't go further inside to them coz there was tide came in river n 
every where was wet n mud but some how i managed to go lil closure and 
again started clicking.got some good shots but after 10-15min that 
Raptor again came for hunt n all flamingos fly away so far.<br />
<br />i was very disappointed coz didn't took close up shots.Returned home n thought to will go again there for best shots.<br />
<br />As
 per plan i had decided to go there again after of 2 days mean on 14th 
April'15.Thought to wake up at 7.30am but due to subconscious mind 
effect i wake up around at 6.30 am.Reached there before 8am and find 
closet location n sit there.taken few shots, flamingos are coming 
towards me but sudden they turn back and going away from me, i was 
surprised that why this happen!!!,i saw some photographers are taking 
shots in standing, handheld n they are going towards these flamingos so 
these wildlife Photographers been noticed by Flamingos n went 
back....some fly away.My mood was upset n much anger.<br />i had waited n 
waited for long time but Flamingos didn't came n did time pass with taking
 photos of mud-skipper,pond heron etc. After 2 hours+ of waiting they 
again came n got good shots of flamingos in group n single flamingo,even
 recorded videos.</blockquote>

On 19/08/15 Around 4.30pm i was taking photos of Greater Flamingos at Sultanpur Wetland,due to backlit photos are dark so thought to move ahead so light not came behind the flamingos. while i was focusing flamingos my camera went out of focus n seen many flamingos far away mean at other side of wetland. when these 4 flamingos moved further inside of wetland, i also think to go at other side of wetland.<br />
after reaching there i was so confused....how to cross n go closure!!!!<br />

how to go closer as there is water lane width of 4 to 6ft n its difficult to jump for me as never ever tried in my life till now.walked here n there for 15-20min for cross this little river lol, but didn't find the narrower.after 20min, at a one point i stopped myself n thought for jump after running.it was very difficult coz my camera n 150-600mm lens is on tripod.even in fear that if i failed n fall then lens will break....<br />
finally walk for 10 ft...take a deep breath n run....n luckily m succeed to jump 5ft river lol...but my shoes are in lil dry n wet mud.<br />

whatever it was a very proud moment for me.walked towards flamingos. there was a 6ft wall made of dried mud n soil so very slowly took position for photo.thought to climb n go up then go to close of water so climb up myself then slide to down...now my cloths were mud stained. but always final result is sweet and got some good photos due to flamingos were away so they ignored me.started clicking with different settings. took video too.<br />

As i was on social trip, i had decided to go at Sultanpur wetland for duck n spoonbil when i return to my home but my friend Dr.Dharmeshbhai told that he got news of Greater Flamingos had arrived at Sultanpur near Navsari, i was so happy for clear weather.<br />
i went sultanpur only 2 times. at 1st time i didn't find main wetland n during 2nd time i was with my birding friends so the road map was lil difficult to find the location.so i had set location on google map in my mobile. the map shows the village but not wetland so i went lil ahead even i ignored the board which shows bird seen in this wetland.sudden noticed n return to that area n turn my car.<br />
The road was very small,if other car come in-front of me it may very difficult n somehow i reached.<br />
3-4 flamingos were seen with eyes,when i focused they were Greater Flamingos....wow.but i was at wrong side mean sun was 90 degree to bird n giving backlit.so moved lil ahead n took 4-5 shot.<br />

It was 11th April'15 n i saw pics of Flamingo on my Facebook friend's update, so i msg him for location. He is very kind person n guide me for location. i am very thankful to very humble person, Dr.Divyangbhai Dave. so i am dedicating  this image to him.<br />
i went next day early morning n took so many images but only few are up to my mark. then after of 2 days mean on 14th April'15 i took good stand where this Flamingos come close to me and taken lots of images.<br />

When i posted Flamingos last time one of my fb friend see my image n wanted to publish that image in popular daily news paper "Divya Bhaskar" so i gave permission so it was published on 13th April'15.that time i was not succeed to catch good shot so decided to go again there on 14th of April'15.<br />
decided to wake up at 7.30am but due to subconscious mind effect i wake up around at 6.30 am.and reached there between 7.30 to 8am.and find closet location n sit there.taken few shots, flamingos are coming towards me but sudden they turn back and going away from me, i was surprised that why this happen!!! then sudden seen some photographers are taking shots in mr.Sudhir Shivram's style means in standing handheld n they are going towards these flamingos so they noticed those hifi photographers n went back....some fly away.my effort of crouching waiting of 15-20min wasted.<br />
after few time one of mine fb friend mr.Rajesh halpti came n we talked n waited for flamingos to come again.<br />
after 2 hours+ time we got good shots of flamingos in group n single flamingo.<br />

Yesterday one of my frnd(Dr.Divyang) posted flamingos posted pics of Flamingos on facebook so excited to place n wanna ask him but before i ask him, someone asked him for place n he answered.The place is just 10-15km away n i was excited to see them with my eyes n wanna frame.even one another frnd mr.Jigen also wanna go there n i asked to go there.<br />
Yesterday was last day of my kid's exam so we were in movie and come home in around at 1am eventhough i wake around 7.30am,get in hurry to go there and reached around there aprx 8.15am.<br />
when i see flamingos.i was so excited n started taking pics with going towards them but my bad luck was started. a Raptor was on hunt.it was Brahminy Kite n all Flamingos fly away.so i moved towards them.this time it was very bad situation,i cudn't go closure to them coz there was tide came in river n every where was wet n muds but some how i managed to go closure and again start clicking.got some good shots but after 10-15min that Rapter again came n all flamingos fly away so far.<br />
i was disappointed coz didn't took close up shots as i was managed good n closure place n weather was cloudy.<br />
will go again there for best shots.<br />
