Many times i went for a specific bird at specific locations but Exploring the area and finding the log awaited lifer gave extraordinary happiness.<br />
Every year i went Kutch for passage migrant during mid September,also i was at Kutch on 17th to 20th September 2018 with my besties  but this time we were with Vikramsinh Sodha at Kunj Homestay.He is in my list of one of best guide due to many reasons.mostly he gave his best for desire species, confirm locations, good knowledge of many years etc.<br />
we reached around in the evening of 17th, got Red-backed and Red-tailed Shrike as planned. then we returned and talk for real exploration in the night.so we entered the area around at 8pm,sighted jungle cat,spent 20min for good photos but didn't got so we went inside.its total darkness,we were unable to see anything except where my cheetah's headlight was falling.Drive for 30+min and then i turn my car so xuv has feature of side beam light and sudden i saw a bird was sitting.we all thought for nightjar or harrier.so i turn my xuv towards it and took record shot from distance for id,it was a nightjar.then sudden it fly but we have torch and didnt fly for long distance so Vikramsinh told to off the light and drive slowly towards it then turn to one side and i did.then i on the headlight and we came out very carefully,this beauty gave 1+min and perk is here.<br />

Last year made a trip for passage migrant during September end at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/KUNJ-the-birding-homestay-276055619156663/" target="_blank">Kunj HomeStay</a> with my best buddies.After great images of Painted Sandgrouse then took our dinner and talk regarding birding till 10.30pm and went for night birding specially for Nightjars.<br />
After drive of 30min,my cheetah display low tire pressure and decreasing so afraid of tire puncture,sudden Vikramsinh Bapu told to drive carefully coz there might be on the road and i break my xuv500 as light fall slightly away from it and surprisingly it was a Hedgehog.we all took shots from distance and parked my car beside the road as saw many vehicles were passing.<br />
Vikramsinh told that it has very poor eyesight and walk very slowly so many times they killed by vehicles so gently bapu pick it up in his hand and put at other-side of road.<br />

Greater Flamingos

Watching Birds gives Pleasant feeling.some birds are so beautiful and Greater Flamingo are one of them.i went Kutch in the end of April'16 for breeding plumage with my birding buddies.it was 700+km journey and drive of 10+hrs but enjoyed lot.<br />
i'm so much Thankful to our friend Dilipsinh Chudasama came at our hotel around 6.30am from Mundra,which is 30+km away from our hotel.Then we went for our destination and its 5+km away from hotel.<br />
we reached at beach,still remember that sound of wind and chirping of lots birds.we had clicked many birds and we were busy.we approached towards birds over sand and sea water and got excellent result.sudden we saw 500+ Greater Flamingos and i was so amazed to saw them,all my friend clicking them and also clicked 20+ photos and sharing best of them.<br />

Wake up at 4am and after getting ready
 driven from Surat to Kadodara cross road to pick my besties Viren Desai
 and Hiren Joshi,they came from Bardoli.after taking tea break,we 
reached Ahmadabad around at 10.30am as expected and pick my roomie  
Pankaj Maheriya.then strted journey towards our destination.<br />

 shoot our video during journey as a trip report and took our lunch 
break at Halvad.after lunch again we stared our journey and reached our 
destination,Kunj Birding Homestay at 5.15pm.<br />
warm welcomed by 
Vikramsinh,we get fresh ourself and talked lil...sudden Vikramsinh told 
for tea but we told to go for Painted Sandgrouse as it was walking 
distance from there but we went there by car as much hot and humid 
weather.<br />
After Parking of my XUV 500,Vikramsinh show us the 
Painted Sandgrouse and loved to watch them coz it was in my wish list of
 beautiful birds. Vikramsinh told that enter in cordoned area very 
carefully then crawl towards them so we did but terrible experience coz i
 did it after long time and many time feel a pain of spikes of dry wild 
babool but result was heavenly.<br />

A long story posted <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2017/09/painted-sandgrouse.html#.Weyu6zCZGM8">Painted Sandgrouse</a> and clicked 1st shots of this beauty,it was very difficult for me coz i did crawl after many months.i was happy with shots but don't know why i thought,need more shots.<br />
so next day while we went there for other passage migrant,our friend Nirav Pomal also joined us.we went for other birds but got only 2lifers and returned at where we had clicked Painted Sandgrouse.don't know why i stop again there,where as mine friends went at other locations.after 30mins of waiting got this shot,i have more then 5shots of this frames.<br />

As per long Story posted in <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2016/12/indian-nightjar.html#.WZqg9OmZGM8">indian nightjar</a> we reached our destination at 3am though we get ready at 6.30am for our wishlist.we had waited for 10.30am but failed to see my wish list bird so decided to go other place for other bird.<br />
After drive of 15min, we saw a bird and stopped.it was an Asian Desert Warbler.took many shots but very active bird so not satisfied though sharing one of good shot from them.<br />

Great Indian Bustard

Read a news that there were only 6 Great indian Bustard in Gujarat n 
have to click this Critically Endangered Species.so went kucth on 13th 
of December'16 with my frineds.<br />
it was difficult to sight but if 
you are connected with friends n guide,you will click such species.even i
 must say your luck may play more role coz no one give guaranty for 
sighting of Critically Endangered Species as number of remaining is near
 to end.it is very difficult to sight coz we had searched more than 20km
 in and 1+hour in  that area n while you are in the car,they must be 
active due to hearing of car engine sound so they hide themselves in 
small tree or bushes. <br />
credit to my friend Viren Desai for it sighting as he had sighted from far even we were in the car.<br />

Ruddy Turnstone (Breeding)

We reached at Bhuj on 29/04/16 and did some shopping then took dinner there n 
went our destination,reached around at 11pm.did check in,get fresh n 
sleep around at 1am.<br />
wake up around at 5am n get ready to 
go,waiting for our friend Dilipsinh Chudasama aka Bapu, as he was coming
 from Mundra.he came around at 6.30am n on the way for Mission Waders of
 Mandvi beach.<br />
within 30min we reached there,virenbhai parked car n
 all ready for go inside the beach.we had walked 1-2km for our mission n
 seen beauties there,it was pleasant feeling to see breeding plumage 
with greater flamingos.<br />
we walked further inside n Bapu started 
crawl,so Pankaj n Hiren also did same.i feel lil awkward as didn't do 
crawl in sand plus sea water even fear to enter dust n water inside the 
lens but for good photos i have to do.so even started same.at first 
clicked sand plover and grey plover,the result was extraordinary and 
unbelievable.<br />

 n Dilipsinh and sudden seen Ruddy Turnstone.i had started crawl towards

Sunrise

Cold of around 10 degree C of early morning and we wake 
up around at 5am coz we have to drive 100+km after knocking of our room 
by our guide.after getting fresh, we taken tea and around 5.30am we were
 on the way to for GIB.<br />
All set for GIB n started our journey but 
we lost in the grk coz much darkness and road is all side.we roam here n
 there for 15+min lol.even gps was not working.finally we came on road 
around at 5.50am.<br />
i was driving at a speed of 40kmph coz there are
 so many nightjar and they mostly came on road.we have to reach before 
sunrise but we were late.even we went on wrong way as missed the 
google's map voice. so we turn on the map on tomtom map (paid app) in 
iphone7 and we reached our destination around at 7.25am.<br />
our guide came there within 5minand we were on the way to GIB.after drive of 5-10min we reach at a little hill and mesmerized myself after watching sunrise and stop my cheetah to capture the beauty.and here is the frame.<br />

 but our friend cum guide Bharatbhai Kapdi told us to return, if sun 
was set and in the darkness we didn't find to return on main road coz 
there was no network n no gps.so i had driven my cheetah upto 110+kmph 
speed to return.</span></span></span><br />

2km away from main road. so i turn the car and stop the car. we all came out to frame this
 beautiful moment but due to sudden brake the dust was coming in the 
frame so we ran toward the tree,where dust didn't came in frame n clicked 3-4 snaps of 
it.forget to change some setting in hurry then i realize n did setting for sunset frame and it was 1st time so even setting was not perfect though i was happy to click it.</span></span></span><br />

Hear a news that there were only 6 Great indian Bustard in Gujarat n have to click this Critically Endangered Species.so went kucth on 13th of December'16 with my frineds.<br />
it was difficult to sight but if you are connected with friends n guide,you will click such species.even i must say your luck may play more role coz no one give guaranty for sighting of Critically Endangered Species as number of remaining is near to end.it is very difficult to sight coz we had searched more than 20km in and 1+hour in  that area n while you are in the car,they must be active due to hearing of car engine sound so they hide themselves in small tree or bushes. <br />

Got News frm frnds group of birds came after 19yrs in kutch and he shared photograph with our whatsapp grp and then uploaded to <a href="http://birdsofgujarat.co.in/">http://birdsofgujarat.co.in</a> so wishlist added in mind but it was aprx 700km away from my home and plan was made...failed since 1+mnth.<br />
finally we was there as mentioned in <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2016/12/indian-nightjar.html#.WFwG_lxsZzk">indian Nightjar</a>. My friend <a href="https://www.facebook.com/ganikhatri">Gani Khatri</a>  had tried for sighting for 2 days for us but failed,even no one was ready to share location.so i was little depressed for sighting.even i was not in contact with Bharat Kapdi before we meet.on 14th i told my guide mahamadbhi (father of <a class="profileLink" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/user.php?id=100011366222575" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show="1" href="https://www.facebook.com/mutwamukimmamd.mukim" id="js_132" role="null">Mukim</a>).<br />
After dinner mahmadbhai met me and told that he had talk with Bharatbhai for Spotted Sandgrouse and gave number.i called Bhartbhai for confimation and set a trip.we have to reach aprx at 2.30pm so we had finished our successful trip of <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2016/12/great-indian-bustard_21.html#.WFwLIFxsZzk">Great indian Bustard</a>  and reached on time at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/EpicenterHomestay/">Epicenter Homestay</a> Lodayi village, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/kapdibharat">Bharat Kapdi</a>, owner of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/EpicenterHomestay/">Epicenter Homestay</a><br />
told us that he was the 1st to sight the Spotted Sandgrouse on 15th November.even he told us that in 1997 who had sighted these Sandgrouse.Bharatbhai made a tea for us and we talked regarding his birding center.he told us that why he named <span style="color: red;">Epicenter homestay.</span> on 26th January 2001,when earthquake was came the blast was just 1km away from this location on little mount.<br />
Around 3.15pm He told us to go for Spotted Sandgrouse.after drive of 5+km,we entered a dried grassland without grass.he told me to blow horn 2-3times as he always do.later he told that this area is our goddess and whenever i enter, i do like this,we appreciate for his pray to this area.within 1-2km of drive we sighted 3-4 Spotted Sandgrouse and took record shot from distance and tried to go closure but it fly away.then we moved inside.<br />
after drive of 2km my frrnd Pragnesh sighted a bird from far away and told its like a falcon.we focused and i told it laggar falcon.we carefully approached and clicked it but id was difficult....this story will share later.<br />
i think we had spent a hour for this falcon and then we moved ahead for sighting of Spotted Sandgrouse but before we went inside, Bharatbhai sighted Cream-coloured Courser and clicked some good shots.<br />
i think its 4.45pm and we have just 45min and have to go further 5-10km.so again i drive on a speed of 100+km/h speed and reached a location where Bharatbhai told me to slow down for 1km then we stop.he picked Binocular and told to drive as he asked.but these group too fly away.he told us that these Spotted Sandgrouse are disturbed by some photographers so they are flying away.<br />
we follow them and again we tried to go near and around 5.25pm we clicked this shot from distance.then they again fly away.now we have to return as we were 15-20km away from village and if we lost the way,no one can contact us there was no network.<br />

indian Nightjar

We had planned trip for great rann of Kutch few days ago but problem is whom i ask and whom to not and maximum birders be 4 so we skipped many.even our guide was new so thought for success of trip.date was fixed for 14-15 December.<br />
it was a journey of up to 700km and total drive of 11+hrs. as per google.we had decided to start a early as possible so we reach there aprx at <span style="color: red;">10pm</span>.one of my frnd Dr.Pragnesh will join n coming from silvasa.if he come to my home as early as possible then we will start our trip early.<br />
i have a night shift on 13th n get hardly 1hrs of sleep there,dont know why as i have a chance to sleep at-least 3hrs.think to go before 8.30pm and took sleep but my eyes were sleepless and Pragnesh came with other frnd Viren and Abhay around at 11.30am.<br />
Pragnesh parked his car at my home and shifted all luggage to my cheetah.we started aprx at 12.10pm.after 5hrs of drive we left Ahmadabad.we thought another 5hrs to reach our destination.we were in contact with my frnd Ganibhai,who was residing at Bhuj.he had managed everything for us.around 11pm we reached Bhuj n i had called Ganibhai as he told me to call before entering Bhuj and he came at one point to meet us.he guide us for our destination even he gave me a offline map as there was less chance of internet and gps.<br />
After 10-15min of talks we were on the way to our destination and it was 1 and half hrs away.everything was black except car's light but it was like adrenaline. we went on wrong way as entered in one village coz we unble o identify road even in map,after 5min of drive we again came back on same road then on right way.<br />
it was around 1am and we were hardly 5km away from our destination.my best buddies told me to watch for nightjar on road and we had seen our 1st nightjar from far n stop car.we came out n took record shot from distance.then started crawling on road but we were much away so i stand up and driven my cheetah little closure.again we clicked some good shots but before we get closure by crawling it fly away.<br />
again get set for our destination but just after drive of 500mtr we sighted 2 nightjar and we all were on ground even we dont know how the condition of road.Pragnesh came with lab assistance,he took our photos in his mobile while we were busy in clicking and crawling.<br />
Time lapsed how much we didnt noticed coz it was fun in cold in midnight.when i saw in my mobile it was 2.30am and we had clicked 2 types of nightjar.1st one was Syke's and 2nd one was Indian Nightjar. we had sighted more than 30 nightjar before we reach our destination.<br />
even we lost our way so called our guide around at <span style="color: red;">3am</span> and after his direction of on light of forest rest house,finally we reached.<br />

 we reached at Bhuj and did some shopping then took dinner there n went 
our destination,reached around at 11pm.did check in,get fresh n sleep 
around at 1am.<br />
myself wake up around at 5am n get ready to go. After getting fresh, we were waiting for
 our friend Dilipsinh as he was coming from Mundra.he came around at 
6.30am n on the way for Mission Waders of Mandvi beach.<br />

30min we reached there,virenbhai parked car n all ready for go inside 
the beach.we had walked 1-2km for our mission n seen beauties there,it 
was pleasant feeling to see breeding plumage with greater flamingos.<br />
I did crawling 1st time in sand with sea water and result was magically superb,you can check my articles.we have to shoot photos till 10.30am coz temperature will gone above 42 degree centigrade and it was much difficult for us.So around 9am we moved more away from our car to find Bar-tailed Godwit,Crab Plover, Eurasian Oystercatcher etc but it was bad luck n we didn't sighted.<br />
While we were coming back,fisherman were put off their fishing net from sea to catch out fishes and Western Reef Egret trying catch fish inside the net.we all were shoot photos but i had shoot video too.<br />

its a soothing morning after  exhausted driving of 700km from Surat to Mandvi,Kutch.we had walked atleast 2km after parking our car at beach and feeling romantic sound of ocean,wind with birds.<br />
i was behind with my friends Viren and Hiren and behind Pankaj and Dilipsinh Bapu.as usual i had started photo from distance for record shot and Dilipsinh bapu started crawling in sand then sea water to get closure,Pankaj and Hiren also did same.i was lil afraid to do as didnt did in past but for getting something best,you have to loose something.i had also copied my friend and here is the result.<br />

it was a dusty road with lil going up hill and Babool tree beside the road. Pankaj and Nirav were in Nirav's Swift and i was with Hiren in Viren's Elatra, we were following Nirav's Swift.Nirav sudden stop the car and came outside so we all came outside.He told,here we can sight Marshall's iora and search begins.luckily we sighted male and clicked as record shot then tried for good shot even after following inside the Babool tree jungle,we failed so we return towards our car and decided to go for Black Francolin.<br />
