Shhh... Koi He

As story posted in <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2017/11/steppe-grey-shrike.html#.WhbA5zeZGM8">Steppe Grey Shrike</a>, we were in Little Rann of Kutch on 17/11/17.we had taken permit and entered for morning safari.<br />
i was driving the Thar and after drive of 20+min,we entered in the Rann.our guide was Saddambhai and we had given Thar him to drive coz he knows the location.after drive of 10min,we got Steppe Eagle.Took 4-5shots, while tried for close shot,one another car came towards us but direct toward the eagle and it fly away.<br />
Then we moved ahead and searching for Peregrine 
Falcon,as its a confirm location,we sighted there.we got good shots.Then we again moved inside and sighted Merlin but fly away even after we were far from it.we tried to locate it but failed and moved ahead. sighted Imperial Eagle.we got good shots of it and after 10min we again moved inside for Short-earled Owl.while we entered there we had sighted 20+ Short-eared Owl and it was amazing.<br />
While we were searching a location for good shot of Owl,sighted this beauty,hiding and clicked 3shots.bit difficult coz we were far away and very difficult to focus.not good n sharp shot but loved the composition so sharing here.<br />

Barn Owl

You will be more happy when you sight a bird accidentally which is in your 
wishlist.Same thing happen when we were returning from Shoolpaneshwar to
 home on 23/03/16 and we sighted Indian Grey Hornbill,so i had stopped the car n 
came to click them.we got record shots.<br />
i went still inside and meanwhile 
Vijayendrabhai called me in very law voice, who is 100mtr away from 
me.So i went there n asked,what??? he saw the location from n told there
 must be an owl.so i clicked from far for id, when we saw in cam's display
 we were excited coz it was Barn Owl.<br />
we approached very carefully
 coz it was partial sleeping in burrow of a tree.But we were noticed n fly 
from burrow but sit on a tree just 30mtr away from us.Luckily we got good shots.<br />

Forest Owlet

After so many days our trio (Viren, Hiren & Myself) set a plan for rarity in Purna Wildlife Sanctuary.Viru called me to set for a trip for Forest Owlet on 02/09/17 but i have to arrangement in hospital and mean while also got a whatsapp from Mukeshbhai Bhatt for Rarity so i called him and he asked to get ready when i say.we also talked for Forest Owlet as he is going with group of Jamnagar.<br />
we all had set to meet Bardoli at 6am so i was ready at 5.15am n driven my chittah towards bardoli from surat and reached at 6am.Viru was ready and we went to pick Hiru from his home and then reached at chamunda hotel on Dhuliya road.after one hour other car came and meet them then driven onward Mahal,North Dang.<br />
it was about 80-90km away with ups n down of mountains but enjoyed the surroundings.we stopped at check point of Bhenskatri and took tea break,Mukeshbhai introduced with Birders from Jamnagar n met with Chirag Solanki, Amitbhai and Kishan.<br />
After 10min we proceed towards Mahal Camp site and finally reached at our destination for Rarity.Forest Owlet is Diurnal species  still need luck for sighting but i have location so we find it and we were much happy coz seen 3 Forest owlet at one place and 4th one calling from otherside.<br />
This Photo was taken from long distance,even much soft coz my tripod was broken so taken handheld and vibration control(image stabilization) was off but managed lil bit in ps. <br />
Taken more than 50shots with video but love this frame so sharing it.<br />

Me and my close friends went so many places in Gujarat and don't know why many people are telling indirectly that, we are running for bird count.yes we run behind every new species,its not for us but its for Gujarat coz in past there were on paper record but no one have photos<span data-offset-key="5repl-0-0"><span data-text="true"> of all species, our moto is to make large photographic bird database for birds sighted only in Gujarat and nearby Union Territory in Gujarat.</span></span><br />
i had seen Brown Fish Owl in our website <a href="http://www.birdsofgujarat.co.in/">http://www.birdsofgujarat.co.in/</a> , uploaded by Dr.Gaurang Bagda, who is a Physician and tried to contact him on Facebook but his friend list was 5k so i cant send fb request.(even i too reached at this 5k fb friend list but realize that many had sent fb request to obtain "likes" so now removing them and reache at 2.2k...lol)<br />
we had made a trip to Sasan Gir wildlife sanctuary for birds and lion.one day i messaged in my group for wish list birds and one of my friend Abhay wrote for "Brown Fish Owl".so i replied, i will try for you.<br />
Again i tried to sent FB Request to Dr.Gaurang and luckily it sent....then he accepted it.while i got message of it,i sent a long message for "Brown Fish Owl" as he know me coz me and Pankaj had uploaded many birds of his as he is much busy person.so he replied that he will try to fulfill our wish list.i called Pankaj and told that talk with Dr.Gaurang regarding Brown Fish Owl as he told.<br />
Pankaj talked with Dr.Gaurang and asked to come aprx at 3pm so we can find this beauty.now we have to plan for reach timely at Junagadh around at 3pm.so made a plan to drive from Surat around at 5am and reach at ahmedabad at 10am then we reach junagadh at 3pm,and everyone was ready.<br />
On 3/5/17 i came from night shift and think for good sleep on 4/5/17 but dont know what happened,didnt took a sleep of 1minut so at 1am,i wrote a message in our whatsapp group for sasan trip...come as early... Abhay was also awake so told to go at Viren's home to start journey early as they had decided to drive at 3.30am.Abhay went at Viru's Home and Viru was also waiting of Abhay and Hiren.Viru called Hiren and surprisingly, Hiren was also awake we all were like owl,might be due to excitement of our trip.<br />
They went to DK(Dharmesh kadiwal)'s home to pick him and 4.30am at my home.we were on the way to Ahmedabad to pick Pankaj.we reached at 9.45 am and Pankaj came at Ringroad of ahmedbad,now e were on the way to Junagadh.we had took our lunch at limdi and started our journey again.due to traffic we reach junagadh at 3.30am.Gaurangbhai wa waiting for us at entrance of sanctuary since 3pm and we reached at 4pm,we all met him face to face 1st time then we were on the way to hill for "Brown Fish Owl".<br />
As Gaurangbhai knew the place,we parked the car after drive of 20min and now we have to walk aprx 1+km in between small to large stones with careful walk.temperature was about 42+c and humidity was high so everyone were soaked in perspiration was it was for wish list so we all ignored(except Pankaj and Gaurangbhai have clicks)<br />
After walking of 20+min Gaurangbhai told us to walk very carefully as we were in the area of "Brown Fish Owl" but our bad luck,it was not there so we walk ahead for 200+mtr and it fly away.now we had divided in group of 3 and walk for 300+mtr but we unable to locate this beauty.Abhay was with me and we see on each other with sad face coz we have to return.Gaurangbhai didnt lose hope for sighting and luckily he sighted with Pankaj,he waved his hand to walk fast and we had clicked this beauty for 10minutes.i saw towards Abahy and he was smiling coz it was his desired wish list,he had clicked only 5+ shot coz he just wanna see live and enjoyed it live.<br />

it was a great pleasure to meet with birding friend and went for photography in night.after long time, approx after 1year i said yes to gone for photography in night so made a plan to meet on 13th April 2017 at Bardoli.<br />
Before 13th April only Dharmesh Kadiwala(DK) and Hiren Joshi(HJ) was in as we sighted <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2016/08/oriental-scops-owl-with-video.html#.WPYkg6KZGM8">Oriental Scops Owl</a> on 16/02/17 in Bardoli outskirt but Viren Desai is my close friend and i forced  him to come with us.Due to his busy schedule on 13th and 14th he refused to join. around at 2pm he called me to join but only if we went after 5.30pm and i said yes. we meet his home Bardoli at 5pm.<br />
DK and HJ went in DK's Duster and We(myself,Viru and Abhay Naik) in my XUV 500.we were in 2 car just because of we also wanna do birding in Vansda National Park on 14th and DK was not doing Birding.<br />
After drive of 2+hour mean  5.30pm to 7.45pm,we reached at DK's farm near to Vansda National Park.we get refreshed,checked n ready our equipment like camera setting, 3 external lights and we were in the DK's Duster then we did our Dinner till  9pm.<br />
we were in search for Leopard,Hyna,Rusty-spotted Cat and jungle cat so we had explored south dang mountain area from ahwa to saputara but find only jungle cat till 11.50pm.in between we lost our road n decided to return n on the way.3 exteranl light were projecting on both side of car mean one was at HJ's hand,one was in Abhay's Hand and one was in my hand.sudden some big winged bird crossed the road and we stopped,focused light on it get wow feeling coz it was a Mottled Wood Owl.sudden picked camera n clicked 3-4 shot.owl was disturbed as at 1st we pour light on it (while we were searching) so it flew but not went far so we also moved little in car and took shots with steady hand coz our car was on and the most images which i took previously were soft.<br />

i was shocked when my friend Dharmesh Kadiwala aka DK called me around at 4pm and asked doctor get ready for night photography at 6pm,coz we have to roam in Bardoli outskirt for Leopard.we had read in news paper n even got info that Leopard was sighting since 2 days.<br />
i went to DK's home around at 6.30pm on 19/02/16,parked my car then we went towards Bardoli in DK's Duster.After reaching there,took our dinner of Khichdi and Hiren n Viren came around 7pm.<br />
we had checked lights,camera settings and journey started around at 7.30pm.i was so excited as it was my 1st experience,even little afraid.<br />
Dk was driving the car,Hiren was on beside Dk and light on left side and Viren n myself were on rear seat with light on right-left side.it was thrilling experience coz road was just wide as car pass on it n bushes,trees are close to road.we reached at one temple near to Tapi river where leopard sighted,talked there with local person and waited for 15-20min but nothing found.then we came on Dhulia Highway and after drive of some km,entered on one road which proceed to village,before we reach there we saw a bird was sitting on cement pole of iron fencing and we stopped,Hiren told it must be a owl.we reversed the car n show light on left side of farm but cudnt locate.we hear a sound of wings just above us on a tree and DK told to show light on that tree.and we sighted a owl.id was difficult as it was our 1st sighting.<br />
As we all know that if we flash a light directly on owl,it fly away so we tried to flash light beside the owl and luckily we get some close shots.<br />

Short-eared Owl

A long story posted in <a href="http://www.yugworld.net/2016/02/saker-falcon-flying-shot.html">Saker Falcon Flying Shot</a> , we had clicked Saker falcon,Peregrine Falcon and other birds in Little Rann of Kutch.we were in the Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary around at 3.30pm.our guide Becharbhai have good experience of more than 6yrs in this field so he knew the locations.so search begins since entrance but we cudnt find anything.So Becharbhai increased the speed upto 50kmph.<br />
After drive of 2-5km,he slow down the jeep n entered at a speed of 5kmph in bushes.very slowly he told us to see right side n u see the Short-eared Owl.even he told that he drives very slowly n stop n drive again.at a point he stopped the jeep n we were looking in bushes but cudnt sight the Short-eared Owl.finally we had seen it,it look very terrible.clicked some shots but it was sitting in shadow so increased iso upto 3200 then get good shot n clicked video too.<br />

You will be more happy when you sight accidentally which is in your wishlist.Same thing happen when we were returning from Shoolpaneshwar to home and we sighted Indian Grey Hornbill,so i had stopped the car n came to click them.we got record shots.<br />
i was still go inside n Vijayendrabhai called me in very law voice, who is 100mtr away from me.So i went there n asked,what??? he saw the location from n told there must be an owl.so i clicked from far for id n when see in cam's display we were excited coz it was Barn Owl.<br />
we approached very carefully coz it was partial sleeping in burrow of a tree.But we noticed n fly from burrow n sit on a tree.Luckily we got good shots.<br />
